Our Commitment to
Net Zero
Care Assist Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 at the latest, in line with the UK's legal target. We want to deliver outstanding care for the people we support while reducing the environmental impact of our homes and services.
What we will do
Measure.
We will establish a baseline of our emissions (Scope 1 and 2, and relevant Scope 3) and track progress each year.
Reduce energy use in our properties.
We will improve energy efficiency across our supported living and residential homes, including insulation, efficient heating, LED lighting and, where practical, renewable energy.
Cut travel emissions.
We will plan rotas and visits to reduce unnecessary journeys, support staff to use public transport and active travel, and move towards low-emission vehicles where we run them.
Reduce waste.
We will cut waste and single-use items, recycle wherever possible, and go paperless in our systems and communications.
Buy responsibly.
We will take environmental performance into account when choosing suppliers and contractors, and ask them to share our commitment.
Report openly.
We will publish a Carbon Reduction Plan.
Our senior leadership team is responsible for this commitment and will review progress at least once a year.
